Be Optimistic and Look up

 Written exclusively for https://housing.com/lookup

There is optimism everywhere in this world. All one needs to know is to look for it in the right places and right people. Of course, there are many pessimistic people around us and we have to learn to keep safe distance from them or to deal with them in the right way. The world has always been a better place than it had been before. A large number of human problems have come down. Today, technology, logistics and communication has made our life easier. However, along with it, there are also some new problems that are encountered by us today.

Hope is the last thing we should lose. This statement has been taught to us from our childhood and we have been listening to it all the time. Hope is just another face of optimism. There are examples of several people who have emerged from large number of difficulties which had almost made their life hopeless. But with persistent efforts and continued optimism, they have conquered heights that were never reached before. One such person I admire is Capt GR Gopinath.

Gopinath belonged to a very poor and humble family. His father was a teacher and also Gopinath's mentor in many ways. He went through a great amount of struggle to pursue education in those days, and thereafter, he joined the armed forces. After serving in the forces for many years, he returned to his village and continued life as a farmer. He faced several challenges. In the process, he took up various vocations. He turned a motorcycle seller, a poultry farmer, a hotelier, a stock broker, an agriculture consultant and so on. His life was full of significant ups and downs, until one day, he set upon the journey to pioneer low cost aviation in India. Flying was a distant dream for a common man India until Gopi's Air Deccan was born, and the rest is history. Even when he was running Air Deccan, he faced numerous problems in dealing with the Government rules, people, politicians, and the overall aviation scenario too wasn't very impressive then. Yet, he continued to keep up his optimism and went about keeping his hopes high. He was always optimistic about the future. It kept him going. After a great deal of journey, he had turned around an entire industry. It was not just Deccan, but the entire industry that had caught up to his concept of low cost aviation. Aptly, Capt Gopinath is described as the Father of Low Cost Aviation in India.

The future is always full of hopes and possibilities. The world offers endless opportunities to those who are ready to take them up and drive the efforts. Every time you come across a hurdle, it just means that you are required to take that long leap of faith, and run with confidence and optimism, as the finishing line is just about there. And then, a new journey begins.

Be optimistic and look up.
